Ecclesiastical topography in the Transylvanian medieval towns
Case studies: Sibiu and Brașov

Acronym: TEOM
GAR-UM-2019-II-2.5-3

Coordinator: Maria CRÎNGACI ȚIPLIC

Members:  Liviu Cîmpeanu, Andrei Nacu, Corina Hopârtean

Objectives: The reconstruction of the topography of medieval ecclesiastical structures and their sacred spaces in Sibiu and Brașov will be analyzed, compared and interpreted by corroborating the data provided by the scientific publications with a evaluation and (re)interpretation of the archaeological investigations and edited sources (documents, plans, maps, images, photographs). We will also focus on unedited primary sources, such as the documents preserved in the parish archives of the Lutheran churches from Sibiu and Brașov, the Archive of the Friedrich Teutsch Dialogue and Cultural Center of the Evangelical Church C. A. and the Library of the Brukenthal Museum, as well as those accessible through online databases.
